My Dying Bride has been the leading light of Doom Metal since its debut album As The Flower Withers was released on Peaceville Records in 1992. The band’s heavy atmospherics have subsequently created a huge worldwide following and the band remain at the pinnacle of the genre.
Originally released on Peaceville in October 1993, and recorded at Academy Studios in Yorkshire, Turn Loose the Swans saw the arrival of long-time session musician and classically trained violinist and pianist Martin Powell. The album saw the band stretching and pushing its grandiose textures and epic doom dynamics even further to create an opus of unrivalled atmosphere and stark emotion.
