“The Beverly Hills restaurant, Ma Maison, was often referred to as “the clubhouse to the stars”. After a bizarre lunch there in the mid 1980s, I was compelled to do a painting based on my experience.
Frank first saw the painting in 1985 at my New York studio and immediately expressed his desire to use the image for a new album cover. Unfortunately, it never came to fruition during his lifetime. Now thirty years later, the fact that it is finally happening makes me smile and gaze toward heavens.”, John Alexander, 10 July 2015
