“All these songs were written about the relationship between the wood of a sailboat and the saltwater of the ocean.
We built the studio in an old blacksmith’s workshop. I would come over and boil eggs and listen to Studio One Recordings. We got an Optigan and put it on everything. Then we installed a large stained-glass window from Copenhagen and it bathes everything in blues and greens and reds.”
